senses for measurement and justify the need for a standard
to measure anything exactly;
describe the Indian and various other measurement systems
used in the ancient times;
define a physical quantity with examples;
differentiate between fundamental and derived units;
write S.I. units of different fundamental physical
quantities;
use multiples and submultiples of different units;
define the least count of a measuring instrument;
name the various devices and instruments used to measure
length, mass and time stating the standard in each case;
measure area of regular and irregular figures;
measure volume of regular and irregular solids.
