  • Ms. Anshul Kharbanda works as an Academic Officer and External Relations Coordinator in National Institute of Open Schooling. She is a Post Graduate in Commerce and a trained teacher.
  • She holds the Chair of the Asian Region of COMOSA.
  • She is the team leader for Gender-Green Teacher (GGT) Programme, training teachers on issues relating to gender and environment.
  • She is coordinating for Gender Sensitization Project at NIOS and Peer-to Peer Quality Assurance Audit between NIOS and BOU-OS.  

Experience

  • Ms. Anshul has worked in various C.B.S.E and I.C.S.E. Schools in different parts of the country and has 10 years of work experience as a teacher.
  • During her recent visit to Commonwealth of Learning from January-March, 2018 for a study tour she learnt about Open Innovative Schooling model, Theory of Change, Research Based Management, Technology Enabled Learning, Teacher Education, Girls Inspire and Gender Mainstreaming. She also completed a Gender Mainstreaming course at COL. She was exposed to the development of ODL Policy in Vanuatu and surveys for skills video impact assessment developed by Emilu Digital Media with the support of COL.
  • She is trained in applying the Institutional Gender Scorecard for Gender mainstreaming developed by COL.
  • She has also led the team for the British Council International School Award (ISA) for fostering team building, innovation and project management.
  • She served the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) as an Intern from 27 March 2017 to 1 April 2017. During the period of her internship, she was given complete exposure to the working environment of CEMCA, which is regional unit of Commonwealth of Learning, Canada.
  • She participated in Refresher Programme on ICT in ODL for the Teachers and Academics in IGNOU organised by STRIDE from April 6th 28th April, 2017.
  • She participated in 27th Orientation Programme from 22nd May-19th June 2017 organised by UGC-HRDC, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishvidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat, Haryana. 

Contribution to NIOS in last one year

  • Enhanced membership on the COMOSA website, providing news from the regions stimulating participation of members on COMOSA-Connect and further improving the COMOSA -Connect website www.comosaconnect.org  as a COMOSA Chapter Chair for Asia.
  • Provided insight and expertise and conducted the workshop from 27th to 29th May 2018 on Gender Mainstreaming and development of Gender policy for Open School, Bangladesh Open University (OS-BOU).
  • Participated as the core member of the NIOS External Quality Review Team at OS-BOU and conducted External quality Review of OS-BOU from 1st to 5th August, 2018.
  • Attended World Hindi Conference at Pailles, Mauritius from 18th - 20th August, 2018. Represented NIOS in exhibiting NIOS study material and other documents at and explored the possibility of opening a Study Centre in Mauritius.
  • Represented NIOS at Invitation Programme for teachers from India 2018 in Japan from 7th to 14th October, 2018 organised by Asia-Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO (ACCU) in close cooperation with MHRD, Centre for Environment Education (CEE) and Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT). She explored the potential for promotion of open schooling to provide courses on Yoga, Vedic Mathematics and Elderly Care in Japan.
  • Conducted three day workshop on Need analysis, critical analysis/cost-benefit analysis and preparing the project proposal for Gender Green Teacher (GGT) Programme 18th to 20th September, 2018

  • Coordinate for Foreign visits to NIOS
    • Delegation from Finland visited NIOS Headquarters on 8th May, 2018 to learn about the ICT interventions of NIOS.
    • Presentation by Mr. Santeri Koivisto, TeacherGaming co-founder and CEO about how TeacherGaming Desk works on 28th August, 2018.
    • Heads of Muslim Minority Managed Senior Secondary Schools as a part of their training in NIEPA visited for a Study visit on August 30, 2018 to gain firsthand experience of the innovative programmes at NIOS.
