Education for Minorities by
National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)
NIOS provides learner centric
quality school education through open and Distance Learning (ODL)
mode to all with special concern for girls and women, rural youth,
working people, Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, Minorities and
other disadvantaged groups. With international recognition and
presence, NIOS is also endeavoring for promotion of quality school
education amongst Minority communities.
To bring the minority students into
main stream, NIOS is according accreditation to Madarsas / Minority
Institutions. Only those Madarsas affiliated with concerned Madarsa
Board and Minority Institutions having affiliation with any of the
recognized secondary education boards are accorded NIOS
accreditation. Further, a unified curriculum and assessment pattern
is adopted for all institutions including minority
institutions.
NIOS has also entered in MoU with
following Minority Institutions -
- Jamait Ulema E Hind.
- Jain Shwetamber Terapanthi Mahasabha.
- Indian Himalayan Council of Nalanda Budhist Tradition (Indian
Sangha Council).
Implementation of online
admission process
The admission process in NIOS is
100%-on-line. The On-line admission has been implemented for
Minority Institutions through NIOS official portal www.nios.ac.in. This has
enabled the Minority Institutions to enroll their learners through
online mode.
